CTI Uses Original Comic Art to Add Color and Branding to NYC Conference Room
In the summer of 2005, while CTI Marketing Manager Michael Latshaw was vacationing on the Delaware shore, he happened upon a restaurant displaying artwork from a local talent, Matt Adler. The use of bright colors and eye-popping images was a direct throwback to the comic pop art of the sixties. Latshaw immediately thought this kind of artwork would contrast nicely with the plain white walls of the New York conference room. So Latshaw met with Adler and commissioned him to create two original pieces of art which would incorporate the company's branding and messaging, while still being true to the artist's comic book style.
Over the next several months, Latshaw came up with the concept and "scripts" for the two pieces, and Matt came back with several different versions of the artwork.
"It was a great collaboration," says Latshaw. "I knew what I wanted from the beginning and what areas I wanted to focus on. So I drew up little mock versions of my ideas and sent them to Matt. He was very good at turning my rather primitive doodles into fully fleshed-out characters. I think the results are both entertaining and informative."
