Each IP Telephone in the 4600 Series requires either a standalone power supply or a closet power supply that can support multiple IP Telephones. An Input power cord is also required for countries outside of the US and Canada. All Avaya IP Telephones that are shipped today are PoE 802.3 af compliant.

The Avaya IP Telephone (46xx) is a voice terminal that is designed to provide audio over IP and direct access to the full Communication Managers feature set. It provides an ethernet connection for the telephone and a PC.

4601 IP Telephone - This is an entry-level telephone with two call appearances, 8 fixed  feature buttons and a message waiting light. The 4601does not support a display, speaker or additional port for connection of an external PC. It does not support static addressing.

4602 and 4602SW IP Telephone - This is an entry-level telephone with two programmable  call appearance/feature keys, ten fixed feature buttons, and a display. The 4602SW offers the same functionality plus an integrated 2 port Ethernet switch. Both the 4602 and 4602SW can run either the H.323 protocol, for integration with traditional Avaya IP Telephony Servers and Gateways, or the SIP protocol, for support of SIP Communications Servers such as the Avaya Converged Communications Server.

4610SW IP Telephone - This provides a medium screen graphic display, paperless button  labels, call log, speed dial, 12 programmable feature keys, Web browser, and full duplex speakerphone. It also includes a 2 port Ethernet switch.

4620SW IP Telephone - This is cost effective and provides a large screen graphic display, paperless button labels, call log, speed dial, 24 programmable feature keys, Web browser, and full duplex speakerphone. The 4620 also supports IRDA (Infra-Red Device Access) which means that it can receive information from devices (ex.PDAs) that support infrared. The 4620 is the only IP telephone to support the EU24 (expansion module). The 4620SW supports the same features as the 4620, but the 4620SW is the required version for unicode support. The 4620SW also includes a 2 port Ethernet switch.

4622SW IP CallMaster Telephone - This provides a large back-lit screen graphic display, paperless button labels, call log, speed dial, 24 programmable feature keys, and Web browser. The 4622 supports the EU24 (expansion module). The 4622SW al so includes a 2 port Ethernet switch. The 4622 was specifically designed for call center use, so it has no handset or switchhook.  The 4622 provides dual modular headset jacks.

Note: A HIP cord should be ordered with each 4622 unless the customer already has an appropriate Avaya headset and headset adapter cord. The 4622 does not have a speakerphone microphone (listen only).

4625SW IP Telephone - This is a color version of the 4621 IP Telephone. It has full duplex speakerphone, switch port, headset port, and supports the same number of call appearances and features as a 4621. In addition, the 4625 has a color, 1/4 VGA screen.
