Dr. Neil Brenner Presents a Comparison of VoIP Solutions at the Annual Channel Partners Conference and Expo
On Sunday March 1st, CTI’s VP of Converged Technologies Dr. Neil Brenner spoke before an audience of several hundred Channel Partners and Executives about the various VoIP solutions on the market today and how they compare. The presentation was part of the annual Channel Partners Conference and Expo which was held in beautiful Las Vegas, NV.
“There are many ways to arrive at the promises of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol),” said Dr. Brenner. “Whether it be an on-premises IP PBX (Internet Protocol private branch exchange) with traditional or SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) trunking or a Hosted Voice Solution or some combination thereof. Within each of those, there are many options from brand-name IP PBXs to open-source appliances on the CPE (Customer Premises-based Equipment) side to BYOB (Bring Your Own Bandwidth) and managed broadband offers on the Hosted side.”
Brenner explained to the audience of Value Added Resellers (VAR) that "your customers can make intelligent decisions by understanding the competitive landscape of CPE and Hosted solutions. If you, as their trusted communications provider has options to present to them, they can then make the optimal choice based on business requirements and Total Cost of Ownership."
Voice behaves differently than data on the customer Local and Wide Area Networks. The successful deployment of Voice over IP requires your vendor to perform a network assessment prior to “go live”. The network assessment provides the customer and implementation team a granular view of the network. During the assessment, we inject simulated voice on the network. In the event the network does not pass the assessment, we provide description of changes required to assure that VoIP calls will be toll quality.
The Channel Partners Conference & Expo is the only event devoted exclusively to The Channel — agents, VARs, systems integrators, interconnects, wireless dealers and consultants — selling communications products and services. The biannual trade show is celebrating its 11th year by achieving milestones in the variety and number of attendees, exhibitors and sponsors.
